No, South Africa is getting the full 199kw version. And they have the same climate extremes as Australia, so I call BS on VWA's reasons for the 188kw detune ....

Nothing a ECU retune won't fix though .....

If its really a temperature issue, they could surely have programmed the ecu to be conservative above a preset outside air temperature.

I think Guy is right we may possibly get the correct untouched version at the eleventh hour.

The Hot Climate rating is really interesting I would love to know which other countries classify under this criteria ? and what that criteria is ?
