Default Advice Wanted - 98 Transporter

Hi All new to the forums.
(not shore if this is the proper thread for this.)
Im in need of some assistants
I'm about to purchase a 98 VW transporter
(T4 not shore) for 200 its missing, rear bumper bar
and power steering pump an indicator lens.
the van has a blown head gasket,
an the milage on the van is around 260 kms,
I been looking on the internet to find the
torque settings etc.. to tighten the head bolts,
also would it be better to get new head bolts.
is there any wreckers that have engine parts for
this vehical i have being looking on the internet
with no luck on second hand parts

I do believe i can do this job on me own as i have done a
Inlet manifold on a old ford v8 engine.
    any help would be great

    Welcome therock

What engine is in the T4 ?

As for parts try VW Specialists/Wreckers for recommendations on where to find parts in your area.

My advice would be seek the advice of a VW specialist - If the heads leaking (it could be a gasket) - my concern is that there will be major corrosion if the correct corrosion inhibitor (coolant) has not been used.

I really only know Volkspower at Burwood - 03 9808 6777 they should be able to steer you in the correct direction!

You need a really good set of workshop tools for this. They have been on a long time & heat cycled umpteen times as well.
