OK,

Owned an 8 Valve 99' Polo 3 door 6N

Positives
Good all round, solid car, hard to get aftermarket wheels to fit.
No window regulator problems

Negatives
Sufferers (with age) from Air conditioning compressor failure (common to a lot of VW's of that era running Valeo compressors).

Watch out for - single throttle body injection (check for faults) - the rubber isolator boot under the throttle plate is subject to wear & tear & splits & causes running issues.

Otherwise very robust car.

Also owned a 16V version as above (think it was a 2002 model)

Same as above - only thing we found was the engine would chew a lot of oil. When inspecting these , remove the airfilter lid & check for oil in the airbox before purchase.
