    Lightbulb APR tuning

    Hi all
just wondering if it is worth loosing your Warrenty by having APR chip my new Tigga?
I don't know much about tuning and the likes but it sounds tempting by what I read on the APR website.
Would like to hear people's opinion

    Cheers

Maybe wait till out of warranty then you can chip.

I have had an APR tune for 2 years now. I waited until I had the first 15,000 km service done, then got the tune and a cold air intake. I've done 70,000km now, no problems at all with what APR have done, and I've even had warranty issues fixed by the dealer. Nice power increase and reduced fuel consumption is hard to beat.

Have a read of the APR FAQ's regarding this issue if you haven't already.

    Good luck.

I may be having the Golf V done in Nov. Our first service is due in Sept, and from then on the Golf will be serviced by the Volksfactory @ Holden Hill.

They won't care if it's been done or not.

Hmmm, I think I will wait a little, at least til after the first service. Or maybe I get sick of the standard tune and do it earlier, lol. We'll see.
    Thanks for the advice.

My GTI has done 5000k's and I was also going to wait but after reading this why wait!? Sounds like there is no major risk just not sure on the extra abuse the DSG can cope with.
Anyone aware of what sort of torque loads the DSG can take, I would expect it to be pretty robust.
Any one have a 1/4 mile time slip for a APR stage 1?

DSG gear boxes have a limited torgue tollerance, so be very careful.
Tiguans don't have the DSG yet, for a reason.

About 6 months ago a MK5 GTI DSG with only APR ECU did a 13.78 at Queensland Raceway 1 evening. Slip was posted on VWWatercooled.

I had my GTI chipped (APR) when it was 3 days old and never had a single issue with it in 3+yrs of driving. Will be chipping SWMBO's Tiguan as soon as possible after its done its 1000km checkup at VW.

It wont see VW (hopefully) again after that as I will have it serviced by a specialist from then onwards.
