Agreed Guy
I never meet him in person but he was one of the kindest VW Enthusiast ever.
He gave some VW brochures from his last trip in NZ which was very kind of him.
RIP DaveMack we all miss you![]()
This post is from a good frtiend of mine (called me before with the sad news)
"It is with deepest regrets that I must announce that I recieved a call from Diane this morning informing me that Dave passed away last night after his long illness...
He was a very proud owner of a Polo GTI, a great moderator and a very good member of the forum. A perfect gentleman...
RIP mate, you will be very missed for your humour and friendship.
A very sad day.."
He will be sadly missed by all the team at Harding Performance, and the crews at Ozvolks & Ozaudi..![]()

Sure is a bitter blow to the VW scene.
Dave will be missed for his humour and enthusiasm. He was a friend to so many people as he was so likeable and easy going.
Dave and I always had a plan to go to Nurburgring and drive the circuit.
As soon as he let me know that he had been diagnosed with cancer he asked me to go over there in his honour to do drive those laps, if he couldnt wipe out his disease. We kept in touch during his treatmentand I made up my mind to drive up to Brisbane to meet this great person. That was just over 3 weeks ago and although he was having an uncomfortable day I was met by smiles from his lovely wife, Diane daughter KKate and Dave. He had Kathie and I in stitches when he occasionaly got out of his seat and did some impersonations. He proudly showed me the Polo and Diane did an afternoon ritual of feeding heaps of birds outside the back door. I imagine that Dave enjoyed that time of the day too.
Rest in peace Dave, I am very glad to have met you in person and it was a moment that will stay with me for years to come. Diane and the family, my thoughts are with you.... Andrew
