Chassis Type

Hi Guys,

I was reading about the Xenon lights for my Golf MKV 2008, and the dealer ask me when I called if my car have CANBUS system?, as far as I know it does, all the VW range of the platform V from the year 2004 have this system, please correct me if I'm wrong,

The next question was the type of my chassis? how do I know this?,

Its in the boot under where the spare wheel sits.

Its a Type 1K btw

Hey Thor,

If these are aftermarket Xenon's & the person who is selling them to you does not know this info - I would suggest don't go near them at all.

It does have canbus, and they have had it for some time - but there are several canbus versions as well.

Wow! more models? now my question it's bigger, how do I know which Xenon kit it's suitable for my Golf???, or from where can I get them?, everyone says there are heaps on the web, but just a few in Australia,

The reason why I'm trying to buy from them it's because they have the Phillips Xenons HID, good brand from my point of view, but they said that they don't do installations but will recomend me a renamed electrician, don't know who,

They asked about the canbus system so that way I can have the right kit......true?

Do you know any good VW electrician?

Might be worth sending us a link - also ask if they have actually ever had any installed in a Golf V first. I would hate to be the first Guinea pig for something like this!
