O.M.G that is very poor customer service indeed..
I too had a problem with my car when the Diverter Valve failed. I also was told it was fine to drive and that I had to book 1 month later to have the problem rectified. (not the same dealer as you but similar attitude)
I ordered the $100 D.V. and replaced it myself 2 days later.. and now have my car serviced by another dealer.

In my case I took my car to Barloworld Five Dock, very good service, this are the contact details of one of the service manager, I don't know how far this dealer is from you, but it's really good service,

The Volkswagen service at Artamon fixed a faulty wiring and replaced the thermostat sensor.

Yep, it has been sorted out.

Anyway, this is my last Golf.

I will never buy another Volkswagen product again

Its sad the the Dealer service and the fault with car have ruined your VW experience.

I hope that you change mind at some stage later down the track but wish you luck in whatever you purchase next.
