Default T5 2.5 diesel engine question

    Hi all,

I have a 2006 T5 Transporter with the 5 cylinder 2.5 litre diesel engine and 6 speed auto.

    My question is as follows:-

    • How do I find out which version of the engine is fitted?
    • The RTA "Inspection Station eAUVIS Check Report" states 128 Kw but the vehicle sticker under the dash (above the pedals) states 96Kw
    • I think it was advertised as 128Kw when I bought it in August 2015 but I only found the under dash sticker last week when looking for something else in that area. I am now confused as to the Kw output of my engine.
    • Does the engine number or the model type give any clue as to what it should be? The engine number is BNZ015*** and the model shown on the sticker is Type 7HK

I hope somebody can shine some light on this for me so I know what the engine Kw size is.

    Thanks,

    Alan

The 96kW motor is the AXD series and the 128kW is AXE in the Transporter.

The performance difference between the 96 kW variant and the 128 kW variant is due to
software modifications to the engine control unit and differences in the design
    of the exhaust gas turbocharger.

    Cheers.

How do I find out if I have the AXD or AXE setup?
