Hey there!
I've recently sold my Peugeot 306 s16 and moved to a VW Golf 2.0 sport.
My general experience with car dealerships is that they are pretty incompetent when it comes to servicing cars, and my first an only experience with the dealership I bought the Golf from has been no different.
I'm looking for an enthusiast-recommended mechanic in the Melbourne area who knows golfs very well and who I can use for services and other work.
When I had the Peugeot, I found a guy who had been working on Peugeots for more than 15 years. He only did Peugeots and he knew the s16 inside out. He was able to plan one full service ahead each service and told me what was going to need to be done next time and what it would cost. He was usually right on the money. No surprises and no breakdowns.
Does anyone know someone like that in the Melbourne area?

Hi there garnercx,
I too am straing to feel exactly the same as you about dealership mechanics.
I was wondering have you checked out Volkspower yet?
I've used Volkspower a few times now and they seem to be pretty good.
Not at the level that my Peugeot man was - we have had a few surprises, but overall they are pretty good and I would recommend them.
