A polish that has been highly recommended

Hi guys,

A mate at work who has and is associated with show car-panel vans put me onto this stuff:

Car-Lack 68

It seems a lot better than auto shop stuff, and people in the know/industry use it. I think i'll order some and report back, just seeing if anyone has heard of it before.

I still have a bottle of that here (can't remember where I got it).

I switched to the P21 series and didnt look back (mostly because they have a swirl remover and other complimentary products).

Check with Dave at Waxit, I'm pretty sure he has tried them all, more importantly get one that suits your own application (parked inside or out, long term polish or show car polish etc..) www.waxit.com.au

Carlack is a great polish I work in the Aviation business and we use carlack 68 on all our aircraft some of which are subject to all kinds of conditions Easy to put on and take off .
Swear the aircraft flies faster as well as great protection

Since then i got onto a range of pinnacle products from waxit.com.au but good to know that Car lack is a good product too. Just wondering if it's too harsh for paint protection film, or is aimed at older cars??

Thats a good question, I marked some of my protection film trying to get bugs off it () so I need to get a little shine back on those spots - its a real PITA as its on the white car

Hi Guy, that's a shame. Mine is still stained in certain spots. Did you ever get any film polish from Dijon, or is it basically the same as normal polish?

The thing with the PPF i found, is you have to get the bugs/bat sh1t off asap, as it will damage the film where it wouldnt normally have hurt the paint in the same time period.

At least it should protect from stone chips. Mine still hasn't had any hits, maybe one small one.

Merrick @ Ducoscratch has some spray on product for cleaning/protecting the paint protection film. It's called Plexus and comes in two can sizes.

And not sure if it will help with stains but you can heat up the surface using a hot air gun to join it back together (for a scratch for example) so I don't know if you used a polish to remove the stain (if it's only on the surface of the ppf) and then heated it if it would regain it's previous looks? I haven't tried this so don't blame me if you melt the ppf or set it on fire.

I used Plexus on Helicopter plastic windows and paint, not bad at all. Very good for cleaning but the protective qualities I'm not so sure about.
I suggest you try a small area first, if you going to try anything.
