VW T2 returns to Europe

It's time to break out the tie-dye shirts as Volkswagen has started offering the T2 Camper in the Netherlands.




Essentially an updated version of the 1960's classic, the van has a sofa bed, a stowable table and a kitchenette with a refrigerator, a stainless steel sink and a two-burner gas stove. Additionally, the range-topping Highline variant has leather seats and a linoleum floor.

Made in Brazil, power comes from a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 80 PS (59 kW / 79 hp). It is connected to a four-speed manual transmission which enables the camper to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 16 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph).

Pricing starts at €32,425 ($44,700), but can top €55,995 ($77,190).
