fuel contamation

hi have just had to have a engine replacement due to fuel contamation not very happy i fill up at
shell service stations has anyone else had problems with fuel least i dont have to pay for the engine

what was the result of the problem? Was it the top end, or bottom, or both?

volswagen said it was fuel contamation and i would have to have a whole new engine

I'd guess is that this is a diesel.

I'm assuming that the car is not under warranty? What car/engine is it?
