    Default caddy maxi camper

Dont know about raising the caddy but you can check my fitout for my maxi camper at Old Timer photos. There are a couple of things I would change tho.

    Talking caddy camper

Where the sink is, I would make a slide-out kitchen bench (which would slide under the bed) on which I could use for my single burner stove and have a plastic container for washing up etc. Then above I would put cupboards for plates, cooking pots and pans. The slide-out kitchen would be made deep enough to have a drawer for knives, forks etc. Just an idea after 3 years of use in the Caddy. You would have to relocate the house battery and electrics further toward the front under the bed. On my way to WA at the moment mostly free camping. Wish I had a 4Motion. Currently averaging around 7 litres per 100 but have struck head and cross head winds in many places. Very cold out in Western NSW at the moment 0.3 this moring. brrrrrr and me from Cairns. Have a good one.

Raising the Caddy, in theory, shouldn't be too difficult. But I've only lowered mine but it should be the same

The front end is all Golf mk5. A new pair of springs, or a pair from the 4motion will sort you out. As for the rear, the axle sits underneath the leaf springs, so you could just add blocks or get the leaf springs reset.

4motion is nice but expensive... the more expensive Caddys are worth nearly the same as the equivalent Transporter/Multivans!
    Go APR!!

thanks for the info lams, yes the money for the top caddy 4motion is not far behind the transporter so will look at the option plus i would have more room. i used a t3 caravel as a camper, had many enjoyable trips through and around aus in it. it wasent a syncro but got me into & out of some difficult places just the same. wilco

No problem. I think some of the wheelchair Caddys do have airbags in the rear
