    Hi All Veterans
    New to OZV

I recently bought a 2nd hand golf 2004 and was hoping some help regarding getting the RNS 510 (don't know where I have the correct model)
Basically that can be fitted into my golf.

I have no technical know how, all I know is ebay is selling them, i was hoping I get that along with MDI and reverse cam.
Is it even possible on my car (it has few controls on steering wheel, vol up down, phone take call hand up and one more button)

will the speedo (digital screen have all the info pop up as well?)

lastly how much will the installation cost, and any recommendations in Melb (eastern burbs)

    Hi Slipnot!

Is your car a MK4 or a MKV? - the early MKV's you have to change some electronics for the RNS510 to work, the RNS was not introduced until 2008.

Hi, firstly thanks heaps for replying.

Sorry I am not sure whether its MK4 or MKV, where Can I find that.
some 2004 VW golf have old style lights at the back and a latch to open the boot, this one doesnt have that.

It has more rounded light similar to the latest model and the boot open via the logo.

    Sorry to be noob

If the boot opens via the logo, its a MK5 (an early one!)

To install the RNS510, you will need to update your CAN BUS controller or the battery will go flat.

    Sorry couldnt reply earlier.
I am not much of a tech person
Do you know anyone in Melb (pref Eastern burbs) Where I could take the car and get it done.
Or atleast find more info about this. and getting rns510 fitted.

    So MK4 = 2004 and MK5/MKV = Late 2004 and 2005 right?

Talk to Volkspower @ burwood - 03 9808 6777, they know the MKV really well (all of them, they have been in business for 50 years)

Hi Thank you so much, and definitely MKV I just got confused when you said I have earlier model and started to think how can a newer looking shape be an earlier model
    I misinterpreted "earlier"
Will try Volkspower in Burwood, thanks once again.
