I don't think they actually set up to do a 9.... and they said they would get it to 9s with a little more work. Nope... they didnt blow it up or destroy it....he had a number of VW drag racers etc to help out...

He may find something I can get sorted under warranty before its runs out in September. You should see his place.. all these VWs, Transporters, Kombis and the like - so many of them. Also was watching Monster Garage the other night and Jessie drove up in an Aussie spec 1600 sedan. He is a VW fan and has a few in his garage.. made me jealous though when he drove a Porsche GT in one time. They has an old beetle they did up to do a 9 sec pass. Got to low 10s. Thanks again for the info.
Got the 60,000k service done. Though it was a reasonable price at just under $400 seeing as he replaced all the fluids, brake, steering, coolant, oil etc and all new filters. I got him to check the van out as well to see if there was anything that needed to be done before my warranty ran out.. He said he could not fault anything, so that makes me feel good for the upcoming trip.

    Default caddy maxi camper

Well got to WA .. been here about 2 weeks. Nice trip except for some very high headwinds across the Nullabor. Went up to Lyndhurst SA and flew out over Lake Eyre....magnificent. One thing I found out on my travels is just how much we in Cairns are being ripped off with the price of diesel. 155.9. I just paid 139.9 in Mandurah. Highest price I paid for the trip was 174.0 at Mundrabilla (half way across the Nullabor) and of course the range of the Caddy kept me from the highest prices 189.9. Have the "Shak'' for sale and looking at buying something a little bigger.
The Caddy did well averaging just over 7l/100k and considering the headwinds this was very good. The best I got was 6.03l/100k. Clocked up almost 5900k. If I don't sell here I may get the oil and filter changed before I head back.
    Safe travels everyone.
