    Cool WA VW service centres

I am off to WA at the end of July and when I get there my Caddy will be due for it's 60,000k service. Would anyone know any good service centres there. Even a private VW mechanic. Thanks

Hi mate, depending on where in Perth (or WA) you are moving too, there are several VW dealers in the city. Otherwise recommend Quattro Motors (Burswood) or Golfwagen (Wangara)

There's a couple of discussions about this topic on vwwatercooled so have a look there. Both private mechanics should be ok with Caddys

    Cheers

thanks mate.... will check them out... just there for a Solos Campervan and Motorhome rally in Quairading in September and maybe onto Kalgoorlie for the Grown Up rally

Solos are people who travel on their own in their vehicles

    Post service

Decided to get my 60,000k service prior to leaving Cairns for WA. There is a German VW mechanic here. The reason for the change is that the Caddyshak will get a going over before the trip even though I only have 54,000k but won't need a service till I get home. He may find something I can get sorted under warranty before its runs out in September. You should see his place.. all these VWs, Transporters, Kombis and the like - so many of them. Also was watching Monster Garage the other night and Jessie drove up in an Aussie spec 1600 sedan. He is a VW fan and has a few in his garage.. made me jealous though when he drove a Porsche GT in one time. They has an old beetle they did up to do a 9 sec pass. Got to low 10s. Thanks again for the info.

    Hey Old Timer,

I just got back from a week in Broome, the weather is perfect for travelling now. I want to make plans to take my Transporter 4 motion over soon, but due to time constrains, would probably put it on the train to perth & drive up & around from there.

There were still a few old Kombi's cruising around which was good to see.

During my travels I have seen many Kombis..... two standouts were at a dam near Blaney in NSW.... one a Westfalia...(think that's the spelling)...also I saw one in Cairns which was original and like it just came off the floor.. that was a few years ago now tho. The guy said he bought it from a deceased estate.

Last time I was up the west coast it blew a bloody gale all the way... went inland to check out Tom Price and Karanjini National Park..

Actually wasn't impressed with Broome myself... but the weather I could not fault.

if he set out to build a 9 sec Beetle, but it did a low-10, then following traditions he'd blow it up and destroy it?
    Go APR!!
