Jetta Gear Box Issue

I bought an 07 Jetta in March, looked really tidy, only 60k on the clock, from a non vw dealer. Theres a sever crunch going into second, all other gears are fine, and it hapens maybe 60-70% of the time I go into second - both up and down. I took it back to the dealer to get it checked, they flushed the transmission, and saif the local VW dealer had told them this resolves 90% of issues like this and run the new tranny fluid in for a 1000k. Sounds to me like complete bo*****s, but would take me out of the three month warranty period if I run it for 1000km.

Can anyone either confirm my suspicions or is this a possible incredible cure?

Maybe worth getting an independant to inspect it and get their opinion....

Sounds like a sick 2nd gear syncro.

Where are you located? - there are good independents around.

Called in at Barloworld this afternoon, who confirmed the dealership are taking the michael, and more than likely using a delaying tactic until the 3 month Warranty expires. Gearbox rebuild as a minimum, so trip back the original dealership tomorrow.
