Cross Passat variant rides on a raised chassis and features 4Motion all-wheel drive

These are the first spy shots of the upcoming 2012 Volkswagen Cross Passat.

This Cross Passat prototype was spied conducting some testing in Germany and we can see the car is riding on a raised chassis and features some matte black paneling around the bottom of the car beneath that camo. The wheel arches also appear to be widened.

The Cross Passat variant will come with Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheeldrive technology and will likely be coupled to the range's higher-output engine variants such as the 2.0 liter TDI with 125 kW / 170 PS (167 bhp) and the 2.0 TFSI with 155 kW / 211 PS (207 bhp).
