Rainy Syd = Wet 2005 Golf 1.6 ?? - Sunroof Drainage

Okay everyone happy easter hope you are all well?
Driving my mates 05 Golf 1.6 5dr manual, and kept it over night and it rained non stop. Woke up to find water on the inside left of the car, umm what could it be due to?
Car only has 68k km on it, and a sunroof and can't seem to id where the water is coming from... it was park on a slight left side front down incline.

maybe something in the firewall, sometimes where people have 'removed' plugging to run new stereo leads from the battery...

this was a common issue in the mk4s and I had this in my car also...
for the mk4 the sunroof had 4 drains. These drains can become clogged with dirt and when that happens water will start running down the headliner and end up in the floor.
Another culprit in ours was one of the rear door seals, it simply aged and wasn't water tight anymore.
if you got some time you can chase it down pretty easily with a garden hose

thank you... took it to vw village near Randwick in NSW - they said it was the sunroof and the drains in splash tray had been overfilled with grit over the life of car, and needed a massive clean out... 3 hours labour later lets hope its all good!

yeah they don't list the capacity in the weather section anymore
I wonder if they're allowing them to go over 75% again?

yeah, it's always a bit confusing when they say the dams are 150% full... I thought at 101%, it would be washing over the sides!

okay borrowed a mk5 golf again with a sunroof, and its been raining. Umm the car is wet front and back - passenger side, closer to the middle. Do these Mk5 VW golf, have heater core issues like the B5 Audi's? If so how much does this cost to fix? Thank you Ozvolks in advance. Happy weekend!
