Central locking emergency exit needed
Hello again. After having a very terrifying experience of being locked in a T5 there is a need for some way of openning door in an emergency.
Has anyone any information of how an emergency door release could be fitted inside the vehicle. (currently have large hammer to break glass)
Thank you WalterR

Thats in intriguing problem - I had a bad central locking module in my current T5 double cab (module was faulty) and we could not get out (except the drivers door), it seems to "double lock" or "deadlock" in this vehicle.
I don't know what the options are - the "deadlock" is the same as you would have in a house & obviously its an anti theft thing. Certainly in my case, we could get out the drivers door.

did the windows still work? Obvious maybe, but you could hopefully crawl out that way....

Thanks for opinions so far. This situation in my threads came about after smoke was rising up from under dash and we could not get out of doors, neither front or back. 000 fire rescue were called. Windows did go down after some time - by them selves!!- key was not in ignition at the time. Was able to unlock door from outside with key (and cancelled 000 as we now out and there was no fire). Van returned to Dealer by truck and after a week stil no indication they have found anything.
Does anyone know how to fit an emergency release for the doors. Seems like it is something the maker should be doing for safety. The very day warranty expires I'll be rigging up something.
Alternatively - does anyone want to buy a T5 2.5 diesel with everything and only 55oooK?
Cheers WalterR

vw vans are not unique to locking you in, i used to drive a rolls royce as part of my job, try extracting your self your self and the boss,s wife out of one of those when the locks fail luckily the windows still went down not very dignified at the time but i get a hell of a laugh out of it now.
