    Default Golf MK3 Repair Prices Correct?

    Hey all, i have a 1998 Golf CL 1998 MK3, went to get the car checked out by a mechanic and find out there's are alot of things wrong, are these prices accurate?

    Auto Pan Casket Leaking : $240

    Front Struts : $451

    Rear Shocks : $347

    All Engine Mounts Need Replacement : $110 each + $231 Labour

    Both Rack Ends Have Excessive Movement : $175 each + $115 Labour

    Both Rear Wheel Bearings Have Movement : $95 each + $92 Labour

    Front Lower Control Arms Torn : $371

    and i think it says Serpinne Belt Cracked (air con belt?) $85 + $77 Labour

    are these fair prices =/ ? should these parts last me a fair while if i replace them?

    hello,
    what made you take the car to a mechanic? I'd say the prices are a little steep and certainly you may be able to knock out some labour cost by combining some of those items.
    Which mechanic did you use? I don't know where you're located but there are VW specialists in most cities. I would suggest you take it to someone who works on VWs all day everyday (and I don't mean a dealer)

    If you let us know where you're located we can point you to a VW workshop
