Well, so far so good, Cairns to Bundaberg averages 6.9L/100k... then had to do some hillclimbing and such... still averaging just over 7 so I am not complaining....will be travelling to Casino in the next couple of days then onto Macksville for the Solos rally .... Solos are people who are members of the Campervan and Motorhome Club who travel alone for at least 60 per cent of the time they are on the road... you should see some of the rigs these woman are driving.... 31ft Longreach.... damm my van would fit in her lounge.... *L*

no... I put 25mm of foam with a foil on one side inside the roof... it fitted perfectly with the head lining fitting back nicely... may help a little with the insulation.... may just carpet the rest of the area where all the holes are just to make it look a little smarter.....I'm always trying to improve things... fitted an electric pump to replace the old hand pump ... so many people remark how good the old girl looks and how much storage space I have....*L*

Thinking seriously of selling Caddyshak and upgrading to a LWB 4Motion highroof transporter..... already have two plans drawn up for fitout.... have a revolutionary idea for a shower at the back....hard to explain my idea but it will fold into back then open up with struts...I can see it but can't explain it... *L*...the Caddy just doesnt give me any cover when I can't put the awning or the rear tent up.... and the wind at Port Macquarie was terrible and I am too old now for these hassles...*L*

good idea for the extra space, but might limit any ability to go on dirt roads-off road with the LWB (then again, if you can change out the suspension and raise it a lot, it might be ok :-) )

I had a 96 LWB Synchro before the Caddy.,.,.. was not turbo so was a little low on power.. drove it from Norseman to Hyden over 300k almost all gravel and some rough corrugated road... then some silly bloke offered me a price I could not refuse... I may have went a little too quick into the Caddy and at the time I was thinking of Fuel Consumption... by the way... Cairns to Port Macquarie and return I averaged under 7L/100ks.... best was 6.04 from south of Mackay to just north of Townsville. The cheapest fuel was at these two places.... *ha ha* old scrooge....

well, I bit the bullet and put Caddyshak up for sale on Trading Post. I also put an ad in the local newspaper in Cairns and got a few nibbles, but no sale as yet.... if I don't sell, then I expect the Caddyshak will have to do .....*L*
