Paddle shifts for Passat 125TDI

Hi Guys,

Looking at getting a new 2010 Passat wagon 125TDI - Highline.
The paddle shift is an option, is it worth getting on the TDI. I haven't driven diesels before so not really sure what usage I'll get with it.

I'm used to the paddle shift on my R32.
Anyone here got the paddle shifts mated with the TDIs like to know your experiences with it?
