Hi
I know this would have been discussed before, but can anyone give me advice on upgrading my rotors and pads???
I have noticed sets for sale on ebay??? has anyone had any good/bad experiences with their purchases etc.
Thanks

I found by just changing to better pads made a big enough difference for me... EBC Redstuff.
The original pads fade too quick on a nice mountain drive. EBC have slotted rotor options aswell.

Hi, Thanks for your input...I was considering just doing the pads to the EBC red stuff, but was advised to skim the discs as well, that's why i thought I would investigate changing both.
In your opinion how much better is the braking with the Red Stuff pads???

While there is no more stopping power (you would need bigger calapers and bigger discs).. there is about 70% improvement with brake fade. The original pads would fade after about 3 hard applications, where the EBC pads seem to just hang on.. to tell you the truth I haven't really had brake fade with them just driving around the streets.. I'm sure you would run out on a track... I put the pads on the car at about 40,000km and have now done 90,000km.. they are about due to change with new discs. The only down side with the EBC pads is they are a bit squeeky for about 5,000km. Make sure you follow the bedding in procedures for best results.

That's great...thanks for the info...

OE discs are really good quality, there are a lot of "cheaper" rotors around that look pretty but just are not the same quality. Some people have starting machining slots into stock ones for better performance, not a bad idea as well.
Thanks
That sounds like a good plan...hopefully enough meat still left on them, I don't think they have been skimmed before, so that could be the best option for me, along with some decent brake pads. I will make some inquiries.

OK
All my rotors need replacing along with brake pads...has anyone got a good UK or US site that ships to Australia. I'm chasing some performance pads and slotted rotors.
Thanks

I've just ordered RDA slotted rotors and EBC pads all round.. fitting it all next month.

That sounds exactly what I was going to do...using red stuff pads. I priced the rotors up locally at $462 inc and pads were about the same...I found some EBC red stuff pads on ebay for $292 AUS delivered ( a lot cheaper)...just looking for some well priced rotors....any idea's???
How much have you been quoted and which pads did you go for???
Thanks
