Hi all

First time poster here.
I recently purchased a 2001 Bora (v5) second hand with about 135k's on the clock.

I've had the car now for about two months, but during this time have noticed a strange sound coming from behind the glove box.

The noise is best described as a soft, semi electronic, opening and closing, slight tapping sound. This sound occurs irrespective of whether the a/c / fan is running or not, and occurs when the car is both stationary and moving.

I can only hear this sound from inside the car. If i try to listen for the sound with the bonnet up, i cannot hear it.

I've tried searching as many forums that I can dig up on the net, but have not come across anything that helps me.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Many thanks

it does sound like part of the aircon electronics, however, do you have a CD changer in the glove box?

No - the CD changer is in the boot.
So you think an AC problem (even though the noise occurs when the whole AC/fan is off)?

i did have that problem and it's the flap that open and shut that control your air flow, if you want the outside air or inside only. You can fix it by open your hood and remove your air vent filter bellow your wind screen, you can see the flap from ther and normaly s leaf is stock inther somewhere and you can just reach it from that end, and sometimes by blowing a soft compress air it will fix it or pulling your glove box out and clean the motor from that end, it's a pain in the A**!!
