I'm looking at getting rims in the new year, but can't decide on the size or design.

I'd like to go bigger than the current 15", so later i can fit bigger brakes.

If i get 16", i want to go realy wide, 8" or so, but cool 16" are hard to find in aus. I could use Polo GTI rims or MK4 GTI rims, but everyone has already.

If i get 17" i'm looking at a set of RS4 replica rims, also the same rims if i go 18".

Would 18" look too big on a VR6?
If i do 18", should i go for some mk4 R32 rims?

What are some other cool rims in a 17"?

The bigger the tyre the more expensive repairs etc are going to be I choose the 16" Polo as I think its wise to have in this age ;)

i'm thinking about the same thing, i've currently got the 15's but am looking at either 16's and lowering it, or 17' something like a mille miglia, i wouldnt go for 18 simply as its the tires are so expensive and the wear and tear on your running gear just increases plenty.

ps, once i added my post, i seen phaetons so excuse my doubling up.

17 inchers I think. Looking at your car I think that with 18"s you'll start to get the roller skate look happening.
In terms of costing the 18" Goodyears that were standard on my car are around $420 a tyre. The Nankang NS-IIs that the previous owner put on it are around the $220-$250 a tyre (I think).

I'm still leaning towards the 18". I don't know why. I recon the R32 rims would look realy good. I seen a silver one with them, and it looked tuff.

So when are we getting some pics of the flashy upgrade?
I'm going to go against the grain here with that other MKIII with the R32 wheels and say that they look too big for my taste. I think 17s would look better.

Hey Ben, does this mean you are mobile now!

No :icon_sad: unfortunately, I do get to drive my works 1980s Corolla once in a blue moon.

EDIT working where I work you learn these things and also the reliability and cheapness of a Japanese car, yes I'm turning to the virtues of the darkside
