Morning folks,
I have been speaking to a dealer about pricing up a current 2009 build Mark V Golf GT Sport TDI with DSG for 43000 driveaway no more to pay.
This includes leather, window tint and a sunroof.
Your thoughts? I think it is a great price, but just want ot know what you experts think.

Sounds good to me - price one up from at least one other dealer - its a really great time to buy a car at the nmoment - it will be even better in January!

If you can wait, I think next year will be even cheaper...
New car sales are suffering, all over the globe and in Australia...
I think dealers will have to drop prices, and/or offer additional to keep the books turning over.... Remember, each car on the dealers lot they have to pay for out of their own pockets, so it's always a good sign if a car has been there for a while without being sold...
A car of around $50K costs the dealer about $500 per month to be on their yard...

As the GT Sport will be dropped when MKVI comes out, there will be a price drop next year.
I got mine without sunroof or leather for 34ish with fleet discount and a few other extras.

I would have thought that if they drop a model like the GT from the range that it would then make it more sought after, especially as it is a top of the range model. I would therefore consider prices would remain fairly firm in comparison to standard models which will then become superseded as the new models take over. No doubt prices will drop somewhat due to the economic situation worldwide but I don't think the GT models will fall in price as dramatically as the base models which are being replaced by the MK VI.

I think the MKIV release is in March? - things will become pretty clear after that.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a Mk VI already (just this last week). The change to the grill struck me straight off. Other than that (and the fact that I was driving in the opposite direction) not a lot struck me as terribly different from the Mk V.
