Hi Nik,
Welcome - let us know what you want to do & we can try to help you out. I have had a lot to do with transporters over the years.
Probably the biggest transporter site in the world is
http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/

Just went to drive to work and the on part of the ignition barrel has stopped working.
Is this a common thing, do I replace the whole barrel. Any help would be very appreciated.

Pulled the barral out, yep its nakered so Im using a scew driver atm, all class!
Got a few things to fix up, would really like to know what all the heater controls on the dash do all the markings are gone!
Hopefully it will be a simple build... yeah right!
Im thinking small lowering, some nicer wheels (nothing too flash) then a basic camper fit out!

Nik,
A couple of good OE parts suppliers to use for parts are:
Imparts www.imparts.com.au (http://www.imparts.com.au)
SYAP www.hsy.com.au (http://www.hsy.com.au)
try them about the barrel - otherwise a quick visit to VW!

Great thanks for that!
Some more questions, my temp gauge reads between the solid line about 1/4 and the thin 1/2 way line is that right? And I cant seem to stop HOT air coming in the vents, even with them close it still seeps in?

Alright Ive been doing some tidying up on my t4 and have a few questions for the masses.
1. I read possibly on brickyard of a y4 with suzuki sierra rims? I havnt measured the stud pattern yet but being a zuk nut if this is true it would mean the pattern is 5 on 5 1/2 so same as ford, jeep, lada, diahatsu etc which would make buying rims easier.
2. Lowering kits in oz?
3. aftermarket parts, lights etc?
At the moment Ive only added a stereo and twin aux battereys (already had smallish sealed batteries so why not)
Tinting the windows tomorrow then next will be some type of exhuast as miy muffler has holes in it!

Sorry - I missed this post - seems like the central AC distribution box needs an overhaul - there are foam seals which separate cold from hot & these may need looking at.
Also we had "Australian" fitted air back in 1996 - it only worked in the centre vents - not the outside ones (not a great solution).

Good questions:
1: - not sure - never heard of it myself. You really need to check the sizes & offsets!
2: - where are you located (fill it in your profile!) H&R springs worked well on my 96' & 98 model!
3. Not much choice around the country - ebay is your friend - but watch out for poor quality stuff!
Sounds like a good project.

Thanks for the reply! And yes I filled out my profile lol.
Is h & r the brand of springs or a company that sells them?
Did you just get rear coils?
Id like to get some rims for it but I cant justify the crazy cost of new when Im building 2 cars (van & 4wd).
Ive checked ebay and there dosnt seem to be a great deal for the t4 so I asked at Auotbarn....and when they stopped laughing they said try a custom shop that builds mini trucks for parts?
Anyway I couldnt find many interior pics so Im just making it up as I go, double bed offsett with a cupboard one side with a roll out draw via the side door and open at the rear. Theres just enough room between the bed and the seat to fit my fridge.
Still alot to do though.

H&R is the brand, TCCA Motorsport in Sydney sells them - you only need rears, you wind the front torsion bars down manually!
Have fun with the buildup!

Thanks mate! How much lower are the rear coils? Ive read you can only drop 2" as thats all the front will allow but the rear is already 2" higher than the front so does it just sit level?
Another question and its a silly one, I didnt get any manual with this bus.... where is the jack and wheel brace?

Jack - I have no idea! - It depends on the internal configuration (seats / cargo barrier) as delivered (way back when)...
50mm drop was what we had on our T4 so your info seems correct - it sat nice & level.
We did hit the bump stops on the front every now & then!

Ok I tried TCCA motorsports and they no longer do anything for the t4 :(

Might have to try to find a H&R reseller overseas!
Also probably worth a call to Eibach springs (they have an office in Sydney)
