My sisters car has a clicking / ticking sound inside the cabin.
I had the car running and removed the fuses one by one and when I pulled F15 (Coolant Pump??) fuse the sound stops.

The sound is coming from the passanger foot well.

Any ideas what it could be??

Thanks,

Michael

Hi mate,

What car (model/year) and when is the noise heard (stopped, in drive, in neutral, driving etc)...?

It is a 2005(??) FSI Manual.

The sound is there when the ignition is on even without the motor running...

It is just a constant clicking noise with about 1-2sec gap between noises. Sounds a bit like a worn bearing...

strange one.. nothing I can think off the top of my head... Where abouts are you located? Probably worth popping in to see an independent to see what they think...

Thats a tough one - there are at least a dozen solenoid operating, most are emissions related, but Stu is correct, a diagnostic tool can individually switch on & off components until you track it down.

does it have climate control? the recirculation valve flap is known to be troublesome...
