Nice in a bizarre sad type of way. Always sad seeing these cars smashed and up for auction. Hope someone who'll appreciate it (or the parts) and put it/them towards a good cause.
Were they actually sold officially sold in Australia or would it be an import?

the red Golf has white shock towers, with no visible damage from the engine bay. Wrong picture maybe?

Yep it's the wrong engine photo. You can see in the other shots that the body line below the windscreen is red, however the VR6 engine has black above it.
Oh well it would have been nice if it was real.

It was a Golf Mk1 Cabrio with a VR6 engine but it was a fake.
